LESLIE COCKBURN OUTRAISES OPPONENT IN SECOND QUARTER

RAPPAHANNOCK, VA--Today, Leslie Cockburn, Democratic nominee for Virginia's 5th district, released outstanding second quarter fundraising totals in which she outraised her Republican opponent. These numbers clearly show that there is strong grassroots support of her campaign for Congress.

In the second quarter of 2018, Cockburn raised $586,602 from 40,083 contributions. This makes the average contribution this quarter $14.63. These numbers are more than double of what her Republican opponent raised this quarter, which clearly shows the momentum behind her campaign.

"This campaign is powered by people who want new leaders hip for Virginia's 5th district because they are tired of the mess in Washington and Congress" said Campaign Manager Louise Bruce. She continued, "Leslie listens to people, and is running to get Washington on the side of the people of 5th District, not multinational corporations and special interests. That’s why Leslie has pledged to achieve this platform without a penny from corporations."

Earlier this month, Cockburn campaign received the endorsement of End Citizens United PAC. They highlighted Cockburn's emphasis on grassroots fundraising and her pledge to not receive money from corporate PACs. It is that pledge that make her fundraising numbers even more outstanding.
